Whats the worst place you have ever been taken for a date?
Maybe I just give out all the wrong signals, but I do seem to have had some dates from hell . . . . .
There was this one guy that I met on a dating site, we exchanged a few messages, and spoken on the phone a good few times - we had a few attempts at a date, but my work schedule and his never seemed to match.
I had by this time told him the village where I lived, and I got a phone call one night, saying that he was on his way back from a weekend away for work, and was passing - could he stop off?
Obviously I said no. I was pretty sure that he was not an axe murderer, but wanted to go out for a first date! (and anyway, i was at home alone, in my PJ's at 7pm on a Sunday night, and had not hoovered, or even brushed my hair that day!)
Eventually, we managed to arrange a date, we agreed to meet at a pub halfway between both our homes. I arrived dead on time, to find him just exiting the pub, we said hello and he said that the beer wasn't very nice, so could we go somewhere else.
Fine, we went to the one next door. I went to the bar to get a drink, whilst he examined the menu - this place wasn't right as the menu was too expensive!
So, we had a quick drink, and then it was off to the third pub. I would have given up there and then, but I was hungry!
And the final two straws that confirmed that this would go no-where . . . the third pub was the only no smoking pub in the county, this was way before the ban had come into force, so as a smoker, I was a little miffed!
But then, as the evening wore on and we were chatting about what we had in common, I found out that he lived about 10 doors down on the same street as my parents . . . .
With the evening I had had, it was definitely time to say goodbye. He was a lovely guy, but definitely not for me.
