Match.Com - Ease Of Use
Very easy to use, very uncluttered site, you can choose the way your Matches are displayed, tiled or with details, with details makes for a longer page but means you don’t have to keep clicking into profiles, unless you see something that interests you.
Menus have been kept to a minimum so again eases any confusion. Match.Com is quite simply the easiest site to use we have reviewed.
Match.Com Signup Procedure
The sign up process is quite painless, When signing up to Match.com you enter your details on the home page, email address your age, location what you are looking for etc., when you submit that you are taken to a profile details form.
It starts off asking you to fill in some free answer questions; looking through the profiles these questions do tend to receive interesting answers and can tell a lot about the person whose profile it is. Make sure you fill these in, and think about your answers.
Once you have completed these you then move on to the usual dropdown and tickbox choices for most of the questions, though the choices you are given means you can usually find an answers that fits, unlike other sites that use this sort of form.
Next comes the bit about you, this again is free text answer, you can enter up to 4000 characters, though you don’t have to enter that many, again think about your answer, you can go back and edit it at a later date, but then you have to wait for it to be approved again.
When you have completed that you are asked to upload a photo, you can leave this to a later date, but I wouldn’t, I will explain why in the Search Tools info.
Match.Com Photo Information
You can upload up to 15 photos, please note that when you are completing your signup, you are given the choice never to be shown a profile without at least one photo....
Make sure you upload a photo; to be sure you are available to everybody.
You cannot post your photos to Match but you can email them and they will upload it to your profile.
Match.Com Member Levels
Only to member levels on Match.com, paid and un-paid,
Unpaid members can search, view profiles, upload their photos, send winks to matches, you can add to your favourites, see that someone has viewed you but can’t see who.
Once you’re a paid member of Match.com you have access to everything, as well as messaging.
Subscribing to Match.com gives you access to many tools that will help you find the relationship you want and deserve. And we're continuously listening to our customers to provide them with a comprehensive set of tools to help them reach their goal.
As a subscriber you can:
Receive and reply to emails from other Match.com subscribers
Send emails to Match.com members you are interested in
Keep track of all open connections in one place – including those you've sent a wink to
Remove members you're not interested in from your search results to make room other possibilities
See who's looking at your profile
Emails are only stored on the Match system for 30 days.
Match.Com Search Tools
Search Tools: we can only say WOW!
There are a number of search option as set as basic searches, you can search for the pre programmed search, this is set to your basic profile entries when you signed up.
You can expand them by using the more search options; this allows you to expand your search out but still keeping it unspecific.
You can search for those that match you by click on the mutual matches’ button, this will give you a list of matches that match your profile between 100% and 90%, when we tried it we had 50 pages of results.
Ok that isn’t enough for you, well you one you have gone into more search option from the quick search click on the "keep Customising" button, this opens up a huge page and lets you customise your search with all the options listed in your profile on sign up.
What you want more.... ok you can also do a search using reverse match, this allows you to search for matches that are looking for what you have entered into your profile, find who is looking for you, then see if you like them... how simple is that.
Match.Com Messaging System
Messaging is by email only, no video or audio chat, but hey isn't that what MSN is for.
Match does offer a nice little feature on their emails, each connection keeps track of who sent the last email, and if it's your turn to reply or your waiting for an answer, this can save a lot of embarrassment at a later date if you have lost track of the emails.
Extras offered by Match.Com
matchMobile: Match mobile lets you receive winks and email alerts on you mobile just enter you mobile number on the appropriate page. You have to add someone to your favourites to find this feature.
A bonus for Match.com this is the first site we have reviewed that has published the mobile phone charges when offering services by Mobile Phone.
Text Alerts cost 10p and are charged by your network provider (12p for Vodafone).

What we found on Match.Com
The site is more relaxed, and the women are not getting pestered to go to video right after the first email.
Almost everyone has MSN or Yahoo messenger these days and if you don’t trust the other person enough to give them your MSN username so they can add you to their list, you shouldn’t be thinking about Video conversations anyway.
All in all well worth the money, we wouldn’t hesitate recommending this site to anyone.
