Midsummers Eve - Ease Of Use
Midsummers Eve is not the easiest site to use when you first sign up, but this is mainly due to the amount of stuff going on, and the etiquette that needs to be learned in order for you to be accepted.
This isn’t your usual style of dating site though it does have all those elements and more, this is more of a social community site.
Once you have got your head around everything that is on offer, and all the extra functions and facilities Midsummers Eve will not be a difficult site to use, and it will be a great deal of fun.
Midsummers Eve Signup Procedure
Sign up process is quite long and tedious, after entering you usual username and email address, password etc.
Midsummers Eve goes on to ask all the usual questions you will find on most dating sites, the difference here is the answers are not dropdown lists, you have to answer in free text.
This does go a long way towards individualising each profile, and helping you to find out more about the person you are looking at, but does take a bit of time to complete.
Make sure you think about your answers, these are how others will form their first impressions of you.
Midsummers Eve Photo Information
You can upload up to 3 photos 10 for paid members (Essential Members).
There is no privacy facility on Midsummers Eve, when you upload a photo and it is approved it is visible to all.
Photos can be posted in to be scanned and up loaded; you may send in up to 3 photos, This service will cost you £5 per photo.
You can have your photos returned but you need to include a stamped, addressed envelope.
Midsummers Eve Member Levels
Midsummers Eve has 2 member levels in reality, though all members are rated by the number of points they have.
The standard membership is free and unlike other sites this does enable you to send and read messages, this is limited to sending 3 messages in a rolling 24 hour period. This means that if you sent a message at 12 noon the second at 1pm and the third at 2pm, you would have to wait until 12noon the following day to send another, this again would mean you have sent 3 in the last 24 hours, at 1pm the next message would drop off and you could send another.
Standard members may use the Open Conversation area (forums/Message boards) but do not have access all the Groups public/private conversation areas
Essential members get access to lots of stuff... Oh Well Here Goes.
Unlimited messages, "trusted member" label, who’s added you to their favourites, who is sending winks, who thinks you're gorgeous? - find out which members have expressed their desire for you by voting you attractive. Where are you on the gorgeous list?
The list goes on and on, lots and lots available to full members.
Midsummers Eve Search Tools
Midsummers Eve has a number of different search tools available.
Simple Search, as the name suggests this is just a basic search, sexuality,gender,ages between,area, whether they smoke?, relationship type they are looking for, whether they have photos. the results can be sorted by age, points, alphabetically, or by newest first.
Search for a neighbour, this is a simple distance search from your postcode.
Search with tags: Use this very simple search to find people who share your interests. Tags are keywords that members have added to their profiles, such as photography, walking or London. Use one tag at a time for best results.
Search by name: Use this search to find people whose name you already know. Name search is for Essentials members only.
Search Plus+: is a more detailed search, though in our opinion it could be far more detailed, it still gives you a number of ways of narrowing your search, this ads age, height, build, dinking and a choice of profile types to the basic search tool.
Midsummers Eve Messaging System
Full members have full access to the messaging system, no surprises no frills.
The standard members to the messaging system is rather more complicated, this is one of the few dating sites that does allow unpaid members to send messages, these are restricted to 3 in a 24 hour period ( see member levels above )
You will probably struggle to get an answer as the site employs a points system, where you need to spend time interacting with the site and contributing to the social networking side of the site to build up your points, when you reach a certain level (number not disclosed in any of the information we could find) you will be awarded a Trusted Status, you can get this status straight away by upgrading to an Essentials Member.
Extras offered by Midsummers Eve
Loads of extras, the majority of which are only available to Essential Members, but enough available to standard members to make the site well worth a look. Including a message board and off line meet ups.

What we found on Midsummers Eve
This site itself is a cross between a social networking site and a dating site; the way it’s put together works very well, and seems to ease the atmosphere. Not everyone on the site is looking for a date, there are just as many looking for friendship, or people looking to share interests like hobbies.
Excellent site all round, well worth a look, and a year’s membership is roughly around the same price as a month on some to the major dating sites that have far less to offer.
