Below is our story and the reason this site exists. When we discussed our experiences of dating sites - both good and bad - and the sort of people we had met and what their expectations were, we decided the internet needed a site that reviewed dating sites honestly, and told you, the user what to expect.

Our Story

Both Suzanne and I (Chris) had experienced many disappointments on various dating sites before ending up on the same one. For us the attraction was instant, we both knew we had found our soul mate long before the first date was over. Our first date was at a Safari Park, this was an excellent choice of venue, as we had the privacy of the car as we drove around the park, with the attraction of the animals to focus on during those times when the conversation dips, and also the security of being in a safe public place.

The Safari Park meant there was always something to talk about, conversation didn’t have to centre on either of us constantly, there was no pressure, if an awkward question was asked, pointing out that the monkey had just run of with half the number plate soon steered the conversation in another direction without anybody feeling awkward.

When we had driven around the park, we went to the cafe for lunch and a more intimate chat, the ice was already broken and we had had a great time, so the conversation went really well. It probably helped that we both really liked each other before we even met (from exchanging messages via the dating site, then emails & phone calls), but that isn’t always a guarantee you will get on when you do.

By the end of the date the question on both our minds was how soon can we meet again? Here we broke all the rules including the one we try and get you to stick too…my place was on the way Suzanne had to go home, so she stopped off for a coffee. I wasn’t expecting this so you can imagine what a guy’s house looks like when he isn’t expecting company. When we pulled up, I asked Suzanne to bring in some stuff from the car, while I “put the kettle on” Good job Suzanne didn’t look behind the sofa (and was too kind to mention the bumps under the carpet)

Suzanne had an appointment later that day so couldn’t stay long, we had coffee then said goodbye, and we made arrangements to talk on the phone later that evening.

That was our first date. This has got to be the best first date I have ever had, one I will never forget, and as they say, the rest is history. We have been married for the last 4 years and are still as happy as the day we met.
