Date The UK - Ease Of Use
Very easy to use, the site is pact full of features, lots of extras compared to other sites, but the site is laid out well with menus across the top giving access to everything, and links in the page where appropriate, giving you direct access to the feature required.
Date The UK though having lots going on in the page has managed to arrange everything so it doesn’t look cluttered and confusing.

The signup process is very quick and easy, just enter you’re chosen Username, this is checked live (using flash) for availability, and you are told there and then if you need to change it, alternatives are offered.
Go on to enter your postcode and email address date of birth and whether you are a man looking for a woman or a woman looking for a man.
That’s it, you’re then sent an activation email to check you entered the correct email address, this arrives within a minute or two, click the link and you’re away...
You can fill out your profile details at your own pace giving you time to think about what you want to say.
Don't expect to get many dates until you have completed your profile though, and as always we suggest you always upload a photo at the first opportunity, this will always improve your chances.
Date The UK Photo Information
You can post up to 12 photos on Date The UK this can be lower depending on your member level (see Member Levels).
The first Photo Everyone can see, and is a public photo, other photos can be made private after they have been approved, this means you restrict it to friends only' photos are visible to those on your friends' list only.
You may post your photo in for inclusion in your profile. If you want them back, please enclose a self-addressed stamped envelope.
Date The UK Member Levels
There are three member levels, standard, which is the free level with restricted access to site functionality, Gold level, which gives the user full access, but restricts the amount they can use the functionality, and Platinum level, again this gives full access without the restrictions
Standard Level allows you to search profiles, view profiles, send winks, and vote on other member’s profiles; you can also see who has looked at you, receive winks and receive emails (you can’t read the emails though).
Gold membership, allows you full access to all functions on the site, the chat rooms reading and receiving emails, sending up to 50 emails or 50 chat sessions per day (this is a lot to use up in a day though). The main restrictions on a gold member account are that emails are only available in your inbox for 60 days, then they are deleted, and you may only upload 5 photos.
Platinum level, with platinum level you get everything available in gold without the restrictions, you can upload up to the full 12 photos, and emails in your inbox will remain available to you for 1 year.
The price difference between the gold and platinum is very small, £1 a month on a 12 month membership, £2 per month on both the 6 month and 3 month plans, and £5 on a 1 month membership, the prices given below are for the Platinum Membership and are the total cost over the membership period.
Date The UK Search Tools
The standard search enables you to search on what you are looking for IE. Male or Female
Between ages you enter from a drop down list, their sexual orientation, the type of relationship they are looking for where they live and when they joined.
The advanced search form available to Gold and Platinum members allows for search on all the criteria entered in the profile.
Remember that not everybody fills in everything in the profile, so start your search with just the important points checked, then refine it with the nice things to have in a partner, until you get the results you would like.
The search forms are very easy, all criteria is chosen by tick box or dropdown list, making sure you can’t get it wrong by introducing an ambiguous search term.
Date The UK Messaging System
Date The UK gives you multiple choices of Messaging or talking to your match. There is of cause the traditional email system.
But Date The UK doesn't stop there. There is also Video Chat and Text Chat (these are both MSN type instant messenger windows. you can also communicate by text message live chat on your mobile, or leave an audio voice mail.

2. Click on the "Cancel Repeat Billing" link.
How do I permanently remove my Account?
To permanently remove your account:

2. Click on the "Remove Account" link in Account block to suspend your profile, once you have done this, your profile will be removed from the system (it will be invisible and you will receive no further mail from us).

What we found on Date The UK
DateTheUK also suffers from scammers, all dating sites suffer from scammers, but DateTheUK seems to have a huge problem with them, they post everywhere on the site to be careful about them and to report them if you spot them, but still they are around every corner.
DateTheUK tells the user how to spot them what to look for in the profile, type of picture they have etc. (what we ask is if DateTheUK knows how to spot them why havnt they deleted them)
Other sites seem to have no problems keeping this nuisance to a minimum, they 9 times out of 10 spot scammers before their profiles are put live. For some reason DateTheUK can’t manage to do this.
Though The site itself isn’t a bad site, the above 2 points that we have detailed over shadow everything else, we cannot say if the site is involved in any of the above activities or if they themselves are just victims, what I will say is our confidence in the sites ability to protect its users is very low, meaning we cannot in all continence recommend this site to our users.
