Friend Finder - Ease Of Use
One of the most complicated site we have reviewed, the page is busier than Spaghetti Junction.
We understand this is because Friend Finder offers so much more functionality than other dating sites, and they have run out of space to fit it all in, but this doesn’t help the user.
If you do sign up to Friend Finder take you time to get to know the site, try out all the functions see what they do, once you start to find your way around the page does stop looking so daunting, and you can start to take advantage of all the functionality Friend finder offers.
We are not going to give you detailed list or description of what menus are available or where they are, but feel free to contact us for more information should you need help with finding a specific function, we will be more than happy to help.
Friend Finder Signup Procedure
Sign up process is very simple just enter you preferred username, location, age, gender and email address. You will be sent an email that contains your password and an activation link.
Once you login, you are confronted with a payment page, (you will see this every time you login until you upgrade) you can ignore this and go to your home page (this the first tab in the menu across the top), you can browse the site and fill in your profile from here, you don’t need to fill in your profile, but your profile will not be visible to others until you do.
Once you have filled in your profile this is checked before it goes live.
Friend Finder Photo Information
You can upload up to 20 photos to your profile.
What photos can be viewed depends on your member level (see member levels below).
Gold members can view all photos:
Silver members may view the first 5 photos, so make sure you have positioned the ones you want all to see in the first five.
Standard members can only view the first photo, make this one your best.
once you have uploaded your photos you can change the position of where each photo is in the 20, top right is position 1 and will be you main photo, position 20 is bottom left.
Deleting photos is simple; just click the delete link under the photo.
Friend Finder Member Levels
There are 3 levels of membership; the prices we have included in the price section are for the Gold Level.
Your membership level is displayed within your profile.
Standard Member: This is the basic free membership level, this allows you to fill in your profile, search members using the basic search, create your blog and post on it. View some other public blogs and add comments to them. You can add people to your hotlist, and see who has added you, you cannot contact people or view their full profiles as a standard member, you can however earn points for interacting with the site, ei. Introducing your friends to the site, creating and posting on blogs, joining Friend Finders other sites.
These points can be redeemed for access to functions on the site, 100 points allows you to view a profile, 200 allows you to send a message.
You may be able to contact other members if they are gold members and have paid extra to allow standard members to contact them.
Prices for Silver Level

Silver Members: silver members can access all that a standard member can plus:
View and contact members, Show up after Gold members in searches, Contact new members, Access members' recorded video intros, Partial access to blogs, groups, and magazine features, Friendly 24/7 Phone Support.

Friend Finder Search Tools
Search tools are quite extensive on FriendFinder, Standard members can use the basic search, allowing limited filtering, on gender location age etc. but remember standard members cannot view the profiles of results, just a mouse over short version.
Silver members have a much more detailed search they can access, you will be able to filter results by languages and ethnic origin, distance from a location, photos only, whether they are trusted members, and if they have filled out their personality type questionnaire.
Gold members get all of the above Plus, the ability to filter by all the profile questions, their star sign, last visited date, audio and video introductions, whether they are willing to relocate, and what result number to start from, so you can pick up a search from where you left off before.
Gold members may also define their own search page.
There is also many predefined searches available, like who is online etc. and a name search if you already know who you are looking for.
Friend Finder Messaging System
There is a number of messaging options there is obviously the usual email message nut in addition there is also winks video/audio instant messenger chat, public chat rooms that all can use, including standard members.
Private chat room that only gold and silver members can set up, and access is by invitation only.
Friend finder also allows you to broadcast your web came, you may block people from seeing it but initially all will be able to access it.
Gold and silver member may also record voice messages for the members they want to contact, just go to the profile of the person click the leave voice massage button and record your message, they will be notified next time they log in that your message is waiting for them.

Removing Profile/Photos from Friend Finder
How do I hide my profile?
To "turn off" your profile so that other members cannot see it, log into the site with your username and password. Then:
Click on the "My Account" link in the top navigation bar of the site page.
Click the "Profile Availability" link in the Account section.
Select the "Make my profile temporarily turned off" radio button.
Click the update button next to that section.
How Do I Delete My Account?
NOTE: Please make sure you have auto-renewal turned off before removing your profile.
To permanently delete your profile:
Log into the site with your username and password.
Click on the "My Account" link at the top of the page.
Click on the "Delete Account" link in the Account section.
Click on the "Permanently Delete My Entire Account" link.
Enter your password and click the "Yes, delete my account" button.
CAUTION: Once you click on the "Yes, delete my account" button, you account and profile will be instantly and permanently deleted! There is no way to recover or restore your account. Please consider this before making your selection.
What we found on Friend Finder
Saying that this site has a lot going for it, once you have learnt your way around this site, and can navigate with confidence, you can get a lot out of it, there is a lot for an unpaid member to do, they can interact with paid members, though the class system introduced by displaying a members level means that few will give a standard member the time of day.
To get the fill benefit from FriendFinder you really do need to become a paid member, it very frustrating, for unpaid members knowing they can speak to other members in the chat room, and be ignored because they can see you only have a standard membership.
With Gold membership this site is amazing, but remember even if you pay for Gold membership, other members can exclude you from search results if you don’t verify your identity.
This is much more than just a dating site, there is a huge established community using this site, this site could be all you ever need, well worth having a look, we would recommend it.
